Rob and Callum present the last podcast of the year; the jewel in the ITHB crown ‘Good Shit: Albums’. These albums are our favourite listens of 2014, as is tradition with Good Shit, there’s no pecking order, no league table of music but we always end up bigging up our one favourite record of the year, usually we’ll have one each but this year one particular record stole our heart and it was difficult to pick anything else that’d top it. Enjoy the pod and let us know what your favourite LP of 2014 was @ithbpodcast and mail@ifthereishellbelow.com.

If There Is Hell Below... The Dungeon Master's CV

Another week another standard classic film Rob can’t quite believe Callum hasn’t seen. This is the last ITHB podcast “proper” before Good Shit ’14 (exciting, innit).
This week the punk of Useless Eaters gets us thinking about dungeons in those medieval films and Hayden Pedigo’s rootsy guitar picking puts us into a bleak revenge fuelled western and then there’s some other songs that don’t remind us of films at all. Like Betty Ford boys the ace Bavarian hip hop producer supergroup and the killer new track from your boy Ghostface.
There’s some Balearic sunbaked folk from Dos Palos and more hip hop and some garage, we talk all about it in this podcast.

Word to the changeophobes: Rob and Callum have new logo, check him out the friendly little Arkman with his bottle of beer and music in ears, and not mention this motherfucker is half-man-half-ark!
This week the Arkman is digging cosmicpsychbalericfunk from Gala Drop, the synth nightmares of Jack Name, the noise punk of Big Ups, the trap via G-Funk hip hop production of Salva and the subtle folk beauty of Jessica Pratt.
We play some other stuff, have a listen and enjoy.

If There Is Hell Below Podcast... Are You Open to the Idea?

Rob and Callum would like to apologise in advance, this podcast does head into the gutter a little but when two bands in this show are called Cumstain and Porno Mags plus one of the songs is called Funky Dildo, the only way is the gutter. After last week’s mixed bag of genres we’ve reverted back to type with garage punk offerings from those two previously mentioned grotty bands plus the token power pop moment comes from Barreracudas . There’s some ace new hip hop from Remy Banks, Pep Love and something from the hip hop album of the moment. Standard tastes met, we also take in some sophistofunkpop from Dutch Uncles, some sweet gentle folk from Angelo de Augustine and the Philly soul meets post-Pet Sounds return of BC Camplight. All that and a little more inside this horrible little podcast.

If There Is Hell Below Podcast... Burglarization

Rob and Callum are chatting about the music with its blowing into instruments, synthetic keyboards; with its loud bit and soft bits and it's spiritual moments. This is a podcast where your hosts may blind you with the technicalities of music and you'll be smarter for it and will likely enjoy music more. Songs from all the genres this week: afro jazz funk rhythms from Jungle Fire, jazz funk from Butcher Brown, not jazz funk but power pop from MAMA, psychedelic hip hop from AJ Suede, straight up golden era from Jay Rock, bedroom pop from Bill Baird and songwriting music via John Southworth. Plus more artists with more songs from more genres inside this incredible music podcast.

Rob and Callum are back with immune systems at the desired strength to pull off an If There Is Hell Below podcast; the right amount to get excited about Boston Crabs, cold blooded jams and fancy brandy bottles.
Music wise we got the killer tunes for the modern day lizardperson; there’s something new and great from another Ovlov split 7”, apebikergang rock from Zig Zags, 60s inspired Latin garage pop from Davilla 666, Jazzlite Cali breeze hip hop from Monster Rally & Jay Stone and of course the power pop is supplied by Sheer Mag.
Tune into our frequency and check the other gems inside.
